BECAUSE EVERYBODY'S LIFE IS A STORY WORTH TELLING!

Originally from BC, Sue arrived in Saskatchewan almost 20 years ago to obtain her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology. She went on to become a Registered Psychologist and spent a brief time working at Mental Health with suicidal adolescents and their families, and also worked as a Psychologist at an Eating Disorder Centre.

In November of 2002 Sue co-established Mourning Glory Funeral Services Inc.; which she co-owned and operated for 11 years. In 2003, she received the Emerging Business of the Year award from Women's Entrepreneurs and two years later was nominated for Women of Distinction under the category of Entrepreneurship. That same year, she finished her schooling to become a Licensed Funeral Director.

In March of 2015, Sue travelled to Oklahoma City to train as a Funeral Celebrant under the direction of Doug Manning and Glenda Stansbury. Throughout her years at Mourning Glory Funeral Services, Sue was known by her staff for her kindness and the ability to establish a quick rapport with the many families she looked after.

Sue has two sons Anthony and Matthew. She is currently working as a Funeral Director and Celebrant at Saskatoon Funeral Home, Westwood Funeral Chapel, and Prairie View Cremation and Memorial Services.

Services

FUNERAL CELEBRANT

In March of 2015, Sue flew to Oklahoma City to train as a Funeral Celebrant.

By combining her skills as a Funeral Director and Counselor, Sue believes she can once again make an impact in the community and offer families a valuable alternative and service when there is no clergy or church connection.  Even if there is clergy involved, Sue can provide a meaningful service and or a tribute for a deceased love one.

“As a funeral director, there were many times when a family wanted a service but they did not have a church or clergy connection.  And I would ask myself, who can I get to do this service.  Who can make this service 100% about the loved one?  Now I can BE that person!”

LICENSED FUNERAL DIRECTOR

Shortly after opening Mourning Glory Funeral Services in November of 2002, Sue returned to the University of Saskatchewan to become a Licensed Funeral Director.  She graduated from the program two years later and throughout her years at Mourning Glory met with many families.

Sue is more than willing to meet with families to advise on or discuss different options available for a Funeral, Memorial or Celebration of Life service.  Meetings take place in her private home.

COUNSELOR

Sue graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1998 with her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology.  She later became a Registered Psychologist and worked for a brief time in Mental Health with suicidal adolescents and their families and at an Eating Disorder Centre.  She also saw a few private clients.

When Mourning Glory opened, Sue became busy with the company to the point where her counseling career was set aside.  Her skills as a counselor however, were always extremely helpful when meeting with distressed families and just being able to reach out to those who were hurting around her.  She was easily approachable and well liked.

If you or someone you know would like to meet with Sue for counseling please email her for more information or book an appointment.
